HR Coordinator/Recruiter

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides high-level tactical support to every employee and function of the human resources department. Has a primary duty of leading and coordinating the company’s recruiting program. Supports the company’s management, purpose, mission, and values.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Anticipates, understands, and provides the tactical needs of the HR department.
  • Takes the lead on the company’s recruiting program. Works with the hiring managers and HR Manager to establish recruiting strategy, determining who to interview, evaluating the acceptability of reference and background checks, and so on.
  • Places all job postings and updates them as necessary.
  • Reviews all resumes for open positions and conducts phone interviews with qualified candidates as noted by hiring manager.
  • Coordinates the interview processes with the managers, ensuring the managers have all the information they need to conduct interviews.
  • Facilities and/or prepares the offer letter, and coordinates background check, drug screen, I-9, E-Verify and so on.
  • Provides strategic insight into the recruiting process. Makes recommendations for improving candidate flow, candidate experience, and the overall recruiting process.
  • Interfaces with the community and civic organizations to seek opportunities to promote employment with the company, including career fairs, campus events, and the like.
  • Follows up with each candidate and provides candidates with a remarkable experience.
  • Assists HR Manager in coordinating health & welfare benefits. Answers employees’ benefit questions.
  • Ensure data entry is done correctly in all HR systems.
  • Assists in New Hire Orientations.
  • Assists HR Manager with HR functions as needed.
  • Is an ambassador for the company’s culture and purpose.
  • Regular, reliable on-site attendance.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

  • Knowledge of human resources principles and practices.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to understand and speak Spanish preferred.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer and programs.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in human resources preferred;
  • 2+ years of experience in the human resources field; or,
  • A combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field.

PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS FOR LIFTING, CARRYING, PUSHING, PULLING

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects. Job involves maintaining a stationary position most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if moving about is required only occasionally.
