Challenge

A homeowner in Austin, Texas had been dealing with a frustrating driveway issue for more than seven years. A large tree in the front yard had caused the concrete to become uneven as the roots grew beneath the driveway, creating raised sections and dangerous tripping hazards. The issue became more than just an eyesore when the homeowner tripped on the driveway several years ago and broke her leg. After having an arborist remove the tree roots, she contacted Baird Foundation Repair to restore the safety and appearance of her driveway.

Solution

After a thorough inspection, our team explained the repair process and set realistic expectations for the project. Although the tree roots had been cut, they were still beneath the concrete and could make it challenging to completely eliminate all uneven areas. Our production team used PolyLevel® to lift and stabilize the settled concrete slabs, carefully restoring the driveway to a safer, more level position. Once the concrete was repaired, NexusPro® Joint Sealant was applied to seal the joints and cracks, helping prevent water from penetrating beneath the slabs and causing future settlement. To complete the project, SealantPro® was applied to protect the concrete surface from moisture, stains, and everyday wear, helping extend the life of the repaired driveway.

Result

The completed driveway repair removed all the tripping hazards that had caused years of frustration for the homeowner. She was extremely happy with the results and appreciated the care taken to improve the safety of her driveway. With a smoother, stabilized, and protected concrete surface, this Austin, Texas homeowner can now enjoy improved access to her home with greater confidence and peace of mind. Baird Foundation Repair is proud to help Texas homeowners restore their concrete and create safer outdoor spaces.
