Challenge
A homeowner in Corpus Christi, Texas, noticed their concrete stairs were pulling away from the house, creating a safety concern and affecting the home’s exterior appearance. Uneven, settled concrete can become a serious tripping hazard if left unaddressed. To prevent the issue from worsening, the homeowner contacted Baird Foundation Repair for a professional inspection and long-term solution.
Solution
After a thorough inspection, our System Design Specialist determined the steps had settled due to voids beneath the concrete slabs. Our team recommended a multi-step concrete repair approach to restore stability and protect against future damage. Using PolyLevel® foam, we injected the material through small, strategically placed holes to fill the voids and gently lift the steps back into proper alignment. To reinforce the repair, NexusPro® Joint Sealant was applied to joints and visible cracks, followed by SealantPro® to create a protective barrier over the concrete surface.
Result
The concrete stairs were successfully stabilized and realigned, eliminating safety concerns and improving the home’s overall appearance. The repair strengthened the concrete against future settlement and moisture intrusion, giving the homeowner peace of mind and a long-lasting solution.
