Challenge

A homeowner in Hutto, TX contacted Baird Foundation Repair while preparing for a remodel. Before moving forward, they needed to address a serious concern: their home’s shifting foundation. The front door and garage door had become extremely difficult to close, often needing extra force or even a crowbar. During the inspection, our System Design Specialist also found additional signs of settlement, including failing door function throughout the home, cracks forming along the exterior, and windows beginning to pull away from the structure. These issues confirmed significant foundation settlement and the need for a permanent solution.

Solution

To restore stability, we recommended our Push Pier System. This solution drives engineered steel pier sections deep into stable soil or bedrock using hydraulic equipment, bypassing weak soil near the surface. Our production crew installed push piers along the affected areas of the foundation, creating a stable support system capable of long-term protection and potential lift toward the home’s original position.

Result

After installation, the home’s foundation was stabilized, and the doors were once again operating properly without force. Exterior cracks were able to be closed significantly, improving both appearance and structural integrity. With the major settlement issues addressed, the homeowner can now move forward confidently with their remodeling plans, knowing their home is secure and supported for the long term.
