Challenge

A homeowner in Corpus Christi, Texas noticed their back concrete stairs beginning to sink over time, creating both a safety concern and cosmetic damage to the home’s siding. As the stairs settled unevenly, pressure against the exterior of the house increased, raising concerns about long-term structural damage. Wanting to prevent the issue from worsening, the homeowner contacted Baird Foundation Repair for a professional inspection and lasting solution.

Solution

After scheduling a full evaluation, our System Design Specialist determined that shifting soil beneath the stairs was the root cause of the settlement. To correct the problem, we recommended our PolyLevel® system, designed specifically to stabilize and lift sinking concrete. Our production team drilled small, pea-sized holes into the steps and injected high-strength polyurethane foam beneath the slab. As the foam expanded, it gently lifted the stairs back into proper position while filling voids and stabilizing the soil below.

Result

The sinking stairs were successfully restored to a safe, level position, eliminating stress on the home’s siding and improving overall stability. The PolyLevel® solution provided immediate results with minimal disruption to the property. The homeowner was relieved to see their stairs secure once again and confident in the long-term durability of the repair. With improved safety, appearance, and peace of mind, the project reflected Baird Foundation Repair’s commitment to delivering reliable solutions and exceptional customer care.
